Almond Rice

This is the side dish my mom asks me to make every time I come to visit. It taste great with baked chicken or any grilled meat

  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • ½ cup celery, chopped
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • ½ ts thyme
  • ¼ ts pepper
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  1. Preheat oven to 375'
  2. Sauté onions, celery and apples in the butter
  3. Add thyme and pepper. Mix well
  4. Add rice and almonds
  5. Cook for 30-45 minute
