Pickeled Red Cabbage (Rød Kål)

This is an excellent side dish to schnitzel, sausage, meatballs, pretty much any fatty meat. It is so easy to make, and you can freeze it up to 3 months.

Pickeled Red Cabbage (Rød Kål)

  • 1 large red cabbage (about 3 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cubed apple
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  1. Add all ingredients and let simmer until tender. About two hours.
